Expertise in one field does not carry over into other fields. But experts often think so. The narrower their field of knowledge the more likely they are to think so.
Robert A. Heinlein

Typical Pine

The edge were tree meets field creates a haven for all sorts of critters.

French Pussy Willow

Salix caprea 'Select'

This is another experiment. I'm bringing in bunch of these this year to set up a pussy willow farm. See if I can grow quantities enough to interest the floral trade.

Caprea has larger catkins than the native pussy willow. Select has a more uniform spacing. of the catkins.

Nominally zone 4. We'll see of global warming has warmed enough for these.
