Warranty Policies
Take reasonable care of it. If it dies, we will make it right.
Everything I sell is guaranteed to be true to type and healthy at the time of pickup. Everything bigger than a seedling (3 liter pot and up) with exceptions is also guaranteed for 14 months past sale given reasonable care.. (Sometimes the first year after transplant a tree is slow waking up in spring. And the extra month gives me one-up-man-ship on Walmart.) Trees are not covered against Moose, Mice or Mowers.
I take your word that the care is reasonable. You are there. If it dies, bring back the stick. We will replace it, or apply the price you paid to a different tree.
Warranty claims are limited to the original value of the dead tree.
General Exceptions:
Moose, mice, and mowers. Bambi, using your tree to rub velvet off his antlers. Critters that strip the bark off. Over enthusiasm by maniac string trimmer (weed whacker) operators.
Appropriate site: Some trees do not do well in certain places. Pines generally require good drainage. Many trees do not thrive in shade.
Cultivar specific limitations:
Cedar: Cedar require a careful balancing act between drought and drowning. They also require careful consideration of site. See my page on Cedars and Junipers
Birch: Birch are not covered against birch borer. Birch can resist borer attacks if they aren't epidemic in your area if they get enough water. This is a lot more water than most people give their lawn.
Unacceptable Quality at time of delivery or pickup
Perhaps your idea of a good tree and my idea differ. You may refuse a shipment and receive a full refund, including any deposit. You can refuse an order either at our farm by coming out and inspecting the order, or by not taking delivery. In the latter case, you are responsible for the cost of shipping both ways.
Does this mean that if you want to cancel your order at the last minute, you can come out, inspect and say that they aren't good enough, and that I'll give you your money back?
Yes.
But we will be doing a cash only business, with no reservations for a while.
