Almanac
As a young man I ran into a book, "A Sand Country Almanac" which was just the lyrical description of a man's observations of a chunk of the natural world. I've also enjoyed "A Desert Solitude" and Sid Marty's "Men for the Mountains" about his days working for Canadian Park Service.
Reading these books gave me a deeper appreciation of the natural world.
I am finding that writing these pages helps me to appreciate nature
and also puts my frustrations and triumphs both into perspective.
This is my soapbox, where I comment on the seasons, my projects, my trees. It's where I try to share some of the magic in my world. Enjoy.
The 'trunk' and 'twig' pages have summaries. If you come back here later trying to find something, this may be a good place. The 'leaf' pages have the details.
The list is not quite in chronological order. I'm trying to make it easy for my readers who come back here often. So Current always is the most recent entry. Below that is the present year by months. Below that are previous years. (And you will see that I've been very slack.)
Once again, welcome to my world!
