Purpletwig Dogwood
So far my experience with purpletwig:
- The twigs and stems are true to it's name.
- Good fall colour.
- It has very dark green leaves.
- It tends to have larger internode distances, giving it a more open airy appearance. It tends to be taller than the native dogwood. You wouldn't be far off if you took a native dogwood, stretched all the twigs by 50% and rinsed it in black cherry koolaid.
As far as I know, same growth requirements as native dogwood.
If you like to use contrast in your garden alternate purple twig with golden variegated dogwood.
