Cherries & Plums

I have two species of this family at this time. Both are shrubs. Both produce small fruit that are mostly pit that make wonderful jam, and otherwise of interest only to birds.

In the works however are Nanking cherries, and the Romantic series of cherries from University of Saskatchewan.

All the cherries have a brief fling of flowers in the spring. Indeed they are one first shrubs in spring to bloom.
