Sherwood's Forests Work Permission Form for Parents of Minors
Dear Parent,
Your son has shown interest in working for me based on the job description on my website. http://sherwoods-forests.com/Home/Jobs/Jobs.html This is a new situation for both parties. I've never hired help with my tree farm before. Your son is just entering the work force.
It helps when everyone agrees to a common statement of the plan. This letter is mostly to get acknowledgement that you understand the job, and the working arrangements, and agree to that divided responsibility when your non-quite-adult goes into the work force.
Feel free to phone me to talk about this. My home number is is 848-2548.
Please feel free to visit the tree farm at any time.
I have read the two-page description of work at Sherwood's Forests Tree Farm.
I acknowledge that physical work with tools, working near farm equipment has a degree of risk.
I am willing to let my son ignore the management's advice regarding clothing even if it means he gets cold, wet, scratched, or sunburned.
I understand that my son can be fired for not following directions, especially concerning safety.
I understand that because of the casual nature of this work, tax deductions are not made by SFTF, and that my son is responsible for dealing with Revenue Canada.
I understand that SFTF will make every effort to create a safe work environment. This will include training in how to use and care for hand tools properly.
I understand that casual labour like this is not covered by the
Alberta Workers Compensation Board, and agree that SFTF
will not be held responsible for injuries that are a result of my
son's disregard of instructions.
