Sherwood's Forests
Minor Applicant's Acknowledgement of Nature of Work
Dear Applicant
Please take the time again to read the job description. Talk to your parents. Ask me questions. Read the specific acknowledgements below before signing.
I have read the two-page description of work at Sherwood's Forests Tree Farm.
I acknowledge that physical work with tools, working near farm equipment has a degree of risk. I understand that I can be fired for not following directions, especially on matters of safety.
I understand that SFTF will make every effort to create a safe work environment. This will include training in how to use and care for hand tools properly. I understand it is my job to pay attention to these instructions, and to ask questions about anything I don't understand.
I understand that casual labour like this is not covered by the Alberta Workman's Compensation Board.
I understand that because of the casual nature of this work, tax deductions are not made by SFTF, and I am responsible for dealing with Revenue Canada.
I agree that SFTF will not be held responsible for injuries that are a result of my disregard of instructions.
If I ignore the boss's advice regarding clothing and I get cold, wet, scratched, or sunburned, then it's my own fault, and I won't whine.
I have not used tobacco products in the last 3 months.
